Undergraduate researcher, Anderson Lab

Deadline:

The Anderson Lab at ISU https://andersongenomicslab.github.io/ is hiring an undergraduate research assistant to assist on a project investigating the genetics and genomics underlying maize root phenotypes that are beneficial for nitrogen acquisition. The undergraduate student will be expected to assist with experiments seeking to identify nitrogen-responsive genes and transposable elements in a time course study and root phenotyping efforts. The undergraduate will gain experience in experimental design, plant nutrition, molecular biology techniques, and greenhouse management. Some computational work may be completed during the winter months. Compensation is $10/hr. We encourage any enthusiastic students interested in crop physiology, responses to environmental stress, or genetics/genomics to apply. Previous experience with molecular biology and R coding is a bonus, but not required. If interested, please submit a one-page resume to Dr. Stephanie Klein (spklein@iastate.edu) by Friday, September 3rd.
